No functional lighting in busy area.

Hi, I noticed that none of the street lighting is on at night near the M58's start which is surprising because it is a busy area. If possible, could any of these be fixed or re-enabled. I hope this was somewhat useful.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about the streetlights.

    We have switched lighting off on this stretch of road to support the Department of Transport’s aim to reduce carbon emissions. These roads have been carefully chosen with all road users safety considered.

    We are still using road lighting where it is needed, however, we are confident that we can use less of it without a significant impact on safety. We will continue to monitor this and may restore the lighting if the situation changes.
