M271 road

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6079862.

Road surface very damage, it's been like this since 2015. M27 smart motorway been done but this part hasn't been done for ages. I have a brand new car that I have to change new tyres as it causes damage. I travel from Southampton to Bournemouth passing this route since 2017 and had seen no road improvement.

  • Thank you for your report concerning the road surface of the M271.

    We’re aware of the road surface issues here. The works that we have planned on the M271 are concreate bay replacements. We will be replacing the damaged concreate bays on the M271 North and South bound from M271 Jct 1 – M27 Jct 3. Works are planned for overnight closures from 8/07 – 26/08. We will be working Sunday to Thursday.
