Growth blocking cycle lane

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 16:01, Tue 4 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6062539.

The growth either side of the cycle lane on the A52 between Gamston Island and Radcliffe on Trent has been left unmaintained where is in now almost impossible to pass another cyclist or pedestrian making it unsafe. Within the next week the path will start to become blocked in areas where the foliage will be growing completely across the only commuter cycle route to/from Nottingham to the south east villages/towns.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue. If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
