Flooded cyle route that is not draining

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 11:57, Tuesday 4 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6060834.

There is a 20m section of the cyclepath here that has been flooded for months now. Despite not having significant rainfall for a period recently, the floodwater is failing to drain and the current level is as bad as it has been. Can this be addressed as a priority for the safety of cyclists and pedestrian users please?

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report and please be assured we're aware of this issue.

We've carried out an initial pumping exercise whilst we work to arrange more extensive works that are required and temporary warning signs are in place.

We hope to resolve this by mid July, but looking at options to bring the works forward. In the meantime we will continue to monitor.

    Kind regards
