Great ruts between lanes- west bound carriageway

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 16:50, Mon 3 June 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6056779.

I was on this motorway last week on my motorcycle. I was appalled to see that between lanes where the white lines are supposed to be there were great ruts that opened up - they are both wide and deep. This affects several miles of the motorway. These ruts would be very dangerous to cross when changing lanes- on several stretches I was forced to stay in lane 1 among the trucks rather than overtake. While this issue does not affect most users, it is extremely dangerous for motorcycle riders and I urge you to a) immediatly erect temporary warning signs and b) resurface the road at the earliest possible date.

Updates

  • The motorway authority said it was fixed but I have been unable to confirm this in person
