Large Hole in Road Surface

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6025749.

There is a significant hole (at least 1m x 1m) and defect in the road surface, which left a visible witness mark / scar in the rubber compound across my left front tyre. It may also have bucked my front left alloy wheel, as I can now feel a vibration.

The hole can be seen just starting in the google maps image of June 2023, it is now a 1m long x 1m wide hole at least.

I can send dashcam evidence if you require it.

This is going to cause an accident.

  • Thank you for making your report regarding the road surface condition on the A14 at Spaldwick. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

    If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen.

    Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
