Overgrown vegetation leaning into fast lane

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 15:10, Mon 27 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6025151.

In between junction 10A and 11 heading in the direction of Folkestone, the vegetation growing by the central reservation is leaning into the fast lane. It is so tall that cars are hitting the plants whilst driving. Consideration for trimming the weeds back to a shorter height.

Updates

  • We appreciate you taking the time to notify us about the overgrown vegetation at this location, and we’re sorry that on this occasion the time frames to cut back the vegetation is taking longer than we would’ve liked. We’re currently working through our cyclic maintenance programme for vegetation in the area and apologise for any inconvenience or frustration this may cause you and the community. The M20 is regularly inspected, and our team have confirmed there’re no current safety issues with the vegetation along this section of the M20 as the vegetation hasn’t exceed the rib line or is in danger of impacting motorists. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and we hope to resolve these issues as soon as possible. Kind regards National Highways
