Fly tipped bin bags at the bottom of Willenhall Road M23 0DT

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping (NH) category by Mark Andrew Bowden at 11:38, Wednesday 22 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6006213.

Several bin bags and other waste thrown over the fence on Willenhall Road. The van needs to drive down Willenhall Road. The waste is over the fencing next to the cycle track and facing the locked gate that leads to the University Playing Fields. I have been advised that this was first reported in February 2024.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

We have passed your report to our local inspector who will review the issue as part of their next safety inspection and arrange any remedial action.

Littering and fly tipping by people is, unfortunately, a behaviour that has a big impact on some parts of our roads. We aim to keep our roads as tidy and free of litter as we can.

Our litter picking is carefully planned to try to minimise the impact it has on road users and the safety of our people. Litter picks often require lane closures, which are disruptive to traffic flow.

To help reduce the frequency of this disruption, where we can, we usually combine our reactive litter picks with other maintenance work which can result in what appears to be a delayed response.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
