Bridge structure vibrating when LGV's pass

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category by Martin Smith FIMechE (Ret'd) at 19:48, Friday 17 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5988277.

Twice now in the last week, while stationary at traffic lights waiting to join the slip road south at J28 on M5, a LGV has passed me in the opposite direction. My car noticeably vibrated in unison with the passage of each axle passed my car. I have a lifetime in the automotive industry including 15 years as an engineering manager with Leyland Vehicles. The vibrations were considerably more than I would expect from normal road fluctuations. It raised a concern about the structural integrity of the bridge. Please acknowledge receipt of this note
