Very poor condition of road surface travelling East towards Deptford

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 12:18, Fri 17 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5986289.

You seem to have received multiple reports of issues in this area but have closed them. For an A-Road, this does seem pretty bad. Cars are swerving to avoid large areas of broken surface approaching a blind summit. We’re used to pretty high standards in this area of the A36 where you have done such a lot between Deptford and Codford. Could you not try to get to this area now? One extensive area to the right hand side of the Eastbound lane is now almost joining up with a new bad area on the near side so that the whole left hand carriageway will soon be affected. There will be nowhere to swerve to and lots of sudden brake applications will cause a different sort of hazard.
