Barriers left on side of road from roadworks

Reported via mobile in the Flytipping (NH) category anonymously at 21:21, Wed 15 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5979432.

Bridge repairs carried out approx 9 to 12 months ago on Brookfield Road bridge over M5. Contractors left road barriers in the grass verge behind the crash barrier on completion of bridge repairs. In direction of Badgeworth in two locations, on left hand side before going over M5 and just afterwards. I have contacted both Tewkesbury Council, Glos Highways and county council who say it is a National Highways issue. Barriers have been left by contractors, hoping they will be recovered/collected but this hasn't happened.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the redundant traffic management equipment.

We'll arrange for one of our local inspectors to investigate this. Where we've identified redundant equipment, this will be removed.

However, in some cases we do leave items in place for future use or for safety reasons.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
