Traffic lights on new roundabout are causing problems with backing up traffic

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 19:20, Wed 15 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5979005.

Traffic lights on new roundabout are dangerous. on approaching in the inside lane from turning right from the new Lancing College exit, if there are other cars already waiting that have gone before, then there is no room for any car on green to go forward. It is dangerous as lanes are being blocked and cars will be at risk of being hit in the back as cars approach quickly around the roundabout. There will be accidents and cars will be hit. The whole design and sequence of the lights does not work, plus the fact you can't get onto the roundabout because of the traffic.

The exit to Lancing College is also dangerous as the road has still not been completed. There is a large bump and ramp. In order not to damage the car, speed has to be reduced so you are at risk of someone going into the back of you when exiting the roundabout. This needs to be sorted as soon as possible in order to minimise accidents.
