Road Surface severely broken
Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 08:07, Wed 15 May 2024
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5975158.
If in the central lane of the A50 exit road to join the M1 J24 island there is a large area of broken road surface. This is very deep in places and could cause a SERIOUS ACCIDENT. If a 2-wheeled vehicle were to encounter this in adverse weather, or in the dark, it would be difficult to see and avoid and the road damage is easily bad enough to track a wheel and unseat a rider. Drivers who know about this are also attempting to avoid it by swerving into the adjacent lanes. Damage to vehicles at this location could result in a stranded vehicle in a very dangerous location.

This has potentially damaged my car today. The road surface leaving the A50 onto J24 is absolutely horrific and you have clearly ignored the dozens of reports. Middle lane toward Kegworth A6 as you enter the J24 roundabout will burst tyres and damage suspension. THIS NEEDS REPAIRING URGENTLY

There are new little areas of surface break-up appearing. These will only get worse. Please can this area be looked at as a matter of priority as there are real safety risks as well as inevitable damage to vehicles.

This surface is deteriorating further. If left alone it WILL DEFINITELY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. The surface holes are large, deep, and extensive. If a vehicle passes over and becomes damaged like mine - suspension spring - it will cause a vehicle to abruptly stop, causing a real risk of a collision. And anything on 2 wheels is at very high risk of becoming a casualty if it hits any of the road damage. Please could this be given some prioriy, other parts of the J24 island have been resurfaced recently and they weren't anywhere near as bad as this.
