Dead cat on hard shoulder of A1M southbound near Bramham

Reported via desktop in the Off the carriageway (NH) category anonymously at 07:38, Wed 15 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5975053.

I have seen three separate reports on Facebook of a deceased cat in the above location on Sunday. My cat is missing and although the description doesn’t match exactly, please can you confirm if a cat was picked up from this location on Sunday or Monday. I drove past on Tuesday morning and couldn’t see anything. My cat is white with a black tail and a distinctive black patch on the top of his head

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about the animal on our network.

Household pets, such as a dogs and cats, will be retrieved, and we endeavour to reunite pets with their owners if they can be identified through microchips or other identification.

I have asked our local inspector to investigate this report but as of today (15 May) he is not aware of a cat at this location. He will investigate further on his regular safety inspections and I will update you if anything changes.

    Kind regards National Highways
