Graffiti

Reported via mobile in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 16:24, Fri 10 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5957244.

Afternoon

There is new graffiti on the motorway bridge at the bottom of Glen Road, Swanwick (accessed off Swanwick Lane side). SO317HD.

There’s always plenty there and it is regularly painted over, however this has recently appeared and it has been signed by the “artist” with an Instagram handle. That Instagram page has a link to their website from which a name is provided and contact details/photo.

My local council and now Hampshire highways also confirm that removal of the graffiti here falls to national highways responsibility.

Please remove the graffiti (other graffiti present are ejaculating penises, so and so likes bum etc etc…)

Kind regards

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about graffiti.

We aim to remove or cover offensive graffiti within 24 hours of our inspection.

Non-offensive graffiti is dealt with under planned cyclical works and therefore can take longer to remove.

We will arrange for our local inspector to look at this on his regular safety inspection of this route and they will arrange a suitable solution.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
