Growth blocking view of approaching traffic

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 07:14, Wed 8 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5944065.

It is currently dangerous attempting to turn right from the A27 onto Britten’s lane, you can see large vehicles approaching on the East Bound carriageway, however the grasses are so long you cannot see an average size car or motorbike. In other words it is not possible to make effective observation! Personally I will be using a different route, if others do the same this will increase traffic through the villages.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report about length of the grass at the Britten's Lane crossover.

We're currently planning in vegetation cuts to all the crossovers along the A27 and this location will be included. We hope to address all crossovers within 28 days allowing for traffic management approval.

In the meantime our safety inspectors will continue to monitor vegetation growth for safety issues.

    Kind regards
