  • Thank you for your report of 7 May 2024 enquiring about the traffic lights on A19/A189 Moor Farm Roundabout. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact us about this.

We've checked and can confirm there was a road traffic accident at this location on 2 May 2024 which damaged the signals controller, disabling the signals on the roundabout. Signage was installed on all approaches to the roundabout to warn road users. The signs stated traffic signals not in use ahead, reduce speed now and give way. Updates about the issue were communicated via various social media outlets.

Temporary signals were installed on the roundabout on 7 May 2024. The temporary signals took longer than anticipated as they are specialist equipment that mimic the behaviours and traffic flows of the permanent lights. We're looking to install the new equipment as soon as possible to minimise any further issues. We apologise for any delays caused.

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk. Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards, National Highways
