Graffiti on numerous bridge reports

Reported via desktop in the Graffiti (NH) category anonymously at 23:05, Sat 4 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5933671.

Following completion of the excellent road widening of the M4 graffiti has appeared on numerous bridge support from Junction 8/9 eastwards towards the M25 Junction

This graffiti has been in place for some months now on new and expensively constructed bridges. It is dispiriting to see that no action has been taken to remove it. Can this please be actioned as soon as possible. It should be relatively easy to remove/repaint the affected areas without any need for a lane closure.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about graffiti.

We aim to remove or cover offensive graffiti within 24 hours of our inspection.

Non-offensive graffiti is dealt with under planned cyclical works and therefore can take longer to remove.

We will arrange for our local inspector to look at this on his regular safety inspection of this route and they will arrange a suitable solution.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
