Two heavily silted culverts contributing to flooding of multiple properties

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 11:10, Friday 3 May 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5928984.

Both the main river Ginge Brook where the marker has been placed and the ordinary watercourse to the north are heavily silted (Approx 40%). This is reducing the conveyance in the channel. Out of channel flows upstream of this location on both left and right banks contribute to internal property flooding in Steventon, Milton, Didcot. It is likely to be a recommendation in upcoming section 19 (flood and water management act) flood investigation to have this cleared but an initial discussion in advance of asking to provide comment on the recommendation as a consultee of the upcoming report would be good so it is not a surprise.
