Deep Drepression

Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 21:26, Mon 29 April 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5905961.

On the left had lane of the southbound carriageway, there is some sort of deep depression. The depression is so bad that it jars drivers of cars and causes lorries to violently sway. Following the recent resurfacing, there are marks on the south side of the depression indicating that that side is being hit by the under side of vehicles or there is undue wear on the surface or tyres.

The depression is between the "For Hermitage follow Chieveley" and the 'Rain Forrest' signs.

Updates

  • This section of road has recently been resurfaced but no work was done to level out the depression, so it is still causing an alarming disturbance to drivers particularly large vehicles. Previous reports have been closed but the problem has not been fixed.

  • Last time I drove southbound I noticed it has been fixed, large sections of the southbound carrigeway have been resurfaced.

    State changed to: Fixed
