Overgrown vegetation starting to block pathway

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 13:32, Wed 24 April 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5893684.

Hi, the vegetation is becoming overgrown on the footpath to the motorway footbridge again and needs cutting back severely!! I use it from the entrance at the junction with Russet Gardens - this is where it is at its worst. It is already approaching 6' high in places. Nettles are rife and usually end up blocking the pathway which people use to get to the local school and hospital. The vegetation is covering the pathway making it very narrow in places too so people have to walk in single file; this really needs to be cleared properly to widen the path back to the width it is paved to. This is starting to become an issue after all the rain we have had and being spring time. Whenever the job has been done in the past it is done poorly and inadequately - please send in workmen who are capable of clearing the area properly. I use this path daily and feel I will need a machete soon to get through the weeds and nettles! This happens EVERY YEAR yet the entire area is ignored. Please schedule regular maintenance of the entire area, not just one part.
