The light controlled pedestrian crossing on the West-bound carriageway of the A27 at Ashcombe roundabout, Lewes, East Sussex.

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 11:54, Wed 24 April 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5893301.

A near-miss incident occurred relating to my wife\'s safety crossing with a bicycle this morning (Wed 27\/03\/24) at about 8am from the south to the north side. She was waiting to cross the road and the lights were red and vehicles had stopped. She fortunately waited for the pedestrian light to go green. Just as she was about to cross, a van collided into the back of one of the waiting cars and pushed it forward onto the crossing and into the path of where my wife was about to cross. Had that incident been a few seconds later it could have been fatal for my wife. Advance warning signage for vehicles approaching Westbound towards Ashcombe roundabout and continuing to head West-bound towards Falmer
