Lights are not working

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5887128.

Between M61 jct to M55 Junction, no street light is working, very poor visibility at night and reflective studs are not reflecting. issue has existed for a very long period

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about the streetlights.

    We have switched lighting off on this stretch of road to support the Department of Transport’s aim to reduce carbon emissions. These roads have been carefully chosen with all road users safety considered.

    We are still using road lighting where it is needed, however, we are confident that we can use less of it without a significant impact on safety. We will continue to monitor this and may restore the lighting if the situation changes.
