Lane markings

Reported via mobile in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 12:19, Mon 15 April 2024

Sent to National Highways 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5854213.

The road markings need to be repainted as it is an everyday occurrence that people approach the roundabout from Easton Lane using the middle lane to then carry on into the middle lane on the roundabout (and are therefore starting in the lane for M3 N and going into the lane for M3 S). The amount of times I have started in the right lane and been beeped at for going into the middle lane (M3 S into M3 S) is actually getting silly.

Updates

  • Thank you for bringing your concerns regarding the road markings at the roundabout to our attention.

We acknowledge the issues you've highlighted and are aware of the potential need to address the continued maintenance of the junction's markings. While we had hoped to implement improvements to the junction starting in 2025, with plans initially aiming for a 2024 delivery, we have encountered delays in the project approval process.

As a result, we are proposing a holding treatment of the necessary markings in the coming months, subject to funding availability. This interim solution aims to address the issues you've raised until the larger improvement project can be implemented.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety and efficiency of the roundabout. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
