M54 jct 1 roundabout is littered with potholes

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 08:56, Monday 15 April 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5852631.

I see someone else reported this over a year ago, but nothing has been done to repair the road since then.

The surface is actively disintegrating and is dangerous.

I'm amazed that major trunk roads are neglected like this. The repair costs will just keep rising as the sub layers will fail next.

  • I have contacted Staffordshire council who say it is national highways that are responsible for this area

  • Wolverhampton council also say it is not responsible for this area. A major accident is going to happen as cars are swerving to avoid the damage. I drive this way daily and it’s got worse over the past few years

  • Still no response to who is responsible for this area, entire j1 roundabout covered with huge potholes, cars are swerving everyday to avoid them. Will it take an accident for you to do something.

  • Such a dangerous state of road at this junction. Even travelling at less than 20mph you need to move from lane to lane to avoid these deep holes
