Fence rotten broken and down

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 20:25, Thu 4 April 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5808841.

Reported this last year and it looks like someone has tried to badly patch the issue by attempting to nail the existing broken boards back to the already broken fence posts, a real pay less pay twice solution, especially as the boards have now blown down again, surely the safest way and most cost efficient solution would be to replace the boards with the appropriate sturdy solution required, consequently the A12 is still accessible to deer with the potential to cause a dangerous accident to oncoming traffic, let alone the required noice barrier not being in place

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue and responsibility for the fence. In most cases on A roads (non Motorway) the fence would fall under the jurisdiction of the adjacent landowner.

If any work is needed, and is deemed to be our responsibility, they will arrange for this to happen.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
