Traffic lights sequence M3 Jct 3 Lightwater

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 10:25, Tue 2 April 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5794167.

Traffic light phasing for A322 over M3 needs adjusting. It seems that the sensors are not working. This issue has been ongoing for years and nothing has been done so far. The time spent queuing coming from the A322 is ridiculous and bad for the environment.

Updates

  • Thank you for submitting this report.

We’re aware of the delays being experienced at this junction. This roundabout was recently resurfaced, and the new traffic signal detector loops have not yet been commissioned so the controller isn’t able to adapt the timing to traffic flow.

The loops are due to be commissioned on 9 and 10 April, after which the site will run as normal, and you shouldn’t experience delays here any longer.

We apologise for the delays you are experiencing and thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue.

    Kind regards National Highways
