Bridge

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 20:19, Wed 27 March 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5775449.

Whilst queuing on the bridge over the A55 from the Rake & Pikel towards town this morning, a tractor and trailer passed over the bridge the opposite way & as it did so the bridge bounced / flexed under the weight. I don’t know if this is supposed to happen ie flexing in bad weather to maintain structural integrity or not and now with all the extra weight on the bridge as everyone queues at the three way set if traffic lights this is too large a load for the bridge to take.

Updates

  • The exact same thing happened to me a few days ago. It was very unnerving.
