Old street lights need removing

There's loads of old street lights between j1 and j2 that aren't in use. They need removing because there no point having them there because they aren't used.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about the streetlights.

    We have switched lighting off on this stretch of road to support the Department of Transport’s aim to reduce carbon emissions. These roads have been carefully chosen with all road users safety considered.

    We are still using road lighting where it is needed, however, we are confident that we can use less of it without a significant impact on safety. We will continue to monitor this and may restore the lighting if the situation changes.
