3 sets of traffic lights on roundabout out of sync

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 18:11, Friday 22 March 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5754711.

Since Tuesday the 3 different sets of traffic lights on the roundabout above the A1 are out of sync, when the 1st set turns green the next 2 follow suit allowing rush hour traffic to get out of the city and onto the A1, this week when the 1st set turn green the next set turn red and when the 2nd set turn green the 3rd set turn red, this has caused 30 minute tailbacks up Ponteland Road plus traffic jams on kenton Road and Etal Lane during rush hour. When the 1st set turn green only a few cars can get out due to the 2nd set switching to red.
