Updates

  • Thank you for your email of 20 March regarding your concerns about the cleanliness of the A63 Clive Sullivan Way. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to advise us of your concerns.

The A63 at this location is an all-purpose trunk road. Usually, the responsibility for sweeping and litter picking on these roads is the responsibility of the local authority. Under the Environmental Protection Act, we’re only responsible for sweeping and litter clearance on roads classed as “special” roads, such as motorways or those where specific legislation transfers cleansing duties to us. This means that sweeping and litter picking duties at this location sits with Hull City Council who can be contacted via https://www.hull.gov.uk/ .

Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk. Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.
