Litter around J7 of M20
Reported via mobile in the Slip Roads (NH) category anonymously at 14:00, Mon 18 March 2024
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5731132.
There are disgusting levels of litter all around J7 of the M20. The area has not been cleared of litter properly for years. The slip roads and main roundabout at J7 require some serious attention. I live in this area and it's a disgrace.

Thank you for contacting National Highways about litter.
We have passed your report to our team who will review the issue and arrange any remedial action if required.
Littering by people is, unfortunately, a behaviour that has a big impact on some parts of our roads. We aim to keep our roads as tidy and free of litter as we can. Our litter picking is carefully planned to try to minimise the impact it has on road users and the safety of our people. Litter picks often require lane closures, which are disruptive to traffic flow. To help reduce the frequency of this disruption, where we can, we usually combine our reactive litter picks with other maintenance work which can result in what appears to be a delayed response.
Please note that the A249 and the roundabout at the top of junction 7 (excluding the slips roads to the M20) is owned and maintained by Kent County Council (KCC). Please contact KCC at https://www.kent.gov.uk/ roads-and-travel if you wish to raise any concerns about litter on this section.
Kind regards National Highways
