White Lines

Reported via desktop in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 10:53, Mon 18 March 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5729503.

The white road junction lines to be repainted at the top of Braypool Lane, Brighton. Other road users are failing to observe the highway code due to the faded lines, less prominent lines, creating a dangerous situation with a potential threat to life and damage to vehicles. There have been a number of significant near misses, exacerbated by the illegal and inconsiderate parking of user of the Hot Food Van. This was initially raised with Brighton & Hove City Council on 14th December '23, they advised this had been referred to National Highways and contact if the works had not been carried out in a few weeks, it has now been 3 months!

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report abut the lack of Give Way markings at the roundabout which were initially reported to Brighton & Hove City Council.

Our safety inspector has today review and observed the location and having observed driver behaviour has raised an order for the installation of Give Way markings. The works will need to be carried out under suitable traffic management l and we hope to complete the works by the end of May, subject to the required approval.

The burger van is located off our network, so any issues with this will need to be assessed by Brighton & Hove City Council.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
