Traffic gantry camera

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5709781.

Gantry traffic camera northbound M1 between junction 39 to 40 flashed me at 68miles an hour no speed limits in place. No signs illuminated on gantry.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

    We've checked and can confirm there was no signs indicating speed restrictions on the M1 northbound between junction 39 and 40 on 13 March 2024. This is because there was no speed restrictions and the normal motorway speed applied.

  • Hi ive received a speed fine from police stating i was travelling at 83mph on this road between jcn 39 and 40. I have a vehicle set at the speed limit automatically so would not have been travelling at 83mph. Please can you advise if this is a fault of the gantry camera?
