Congestion and traffic blocking M20 J10a on slip London bound

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 16:38, Friday 8 March 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5687175.

Over the past few days traffic on J10a of the M20 has been backing up on the junction itself at the lights by the off-slip coast bound. This has resulted in traffic also backing up on the A2070 and has meant that the on-slip London bound (green pin) is getting blocked. Has there, perhaps, been a rephasing of the lights somewhere? Or has another local change made this a problem? It is dangerous as vehicles coming round the junction quickly with the intention of using the on-slip London bound are having to brake sharply or swerve to avoid vehicles stopped across the exit.
