Series of large potholes on M5 southbound

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 05:32, Wednesday 6 March 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5674380.

Within the roadworks, prior to coming off to junction 16 for Almondsbury. Large section of broken road surface that is unavoidable due to the roadworks narrow lanes. Been like this for weeks.

Updates

  • The road surface here is dangerous. It's is badly degraded and impossible to avoid. I ran over this on Thursday the 7th March and it was so harsh on my car which has passive track set up suspension that it's hurt my back really badly.

  • Just had to limp off with a flat tyre at Jct16. Saturday 16 March 12.45pm. Another car was parked on the side with a flat tyre! Ridiculous road surface. Waiting at Kwikfit for a replacement. Can I make a claim?

  • I went over the same pothole last night 21 March 2024. Felt like my right front tyre and suspension came through the dash board. Seriously damaged my car, claim on way. Thanks Bristol Council.
