Pothole on M5 under M4 lane 1

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 07:47, Tue 5 March 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5669120.

I've reported this pothole before and have been blatantly ignored as I rang up and there is no trace of the conversation and I wanted it in writing. This pothole caused eggs in both my front tyres a couple months back, the lane was shut and then reopened and no action had been taken to sort the pothole. I heard last night that another friend of mine hit the pothole and has damaged the suspension on their car. If this is not sorted, there is a danger to life for motorcyclists and to have ignored warnings about this is shocking. I have this in writing in the unfortunate event that that occurs, that you have ignored blatant warnings and have taken no action. I will also be taking a screenshot of this message incase this is "Removed" for being inappropriate.

Updates

  • Agree, the narrow lanes make potholes like this unavoidable. They seem to ignore them because there's already roadworks going on. Southbound M5 under the M4 also has a large section of broken tarmac that I've reported.
