Debris

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 22:41, Fri 23 February 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5622979.

The path is unusable by Cyclists and hazardous because of Mud and Debris. This is being caused by the Quarry works on the opposite side of the A12/Colemans Bridge/Colemans Farm. The operator is doing some work to clear Little Braxted lane however the movement of tipper truck from the site are creating a hazard elsewhere. The northbound sliproad joining the A12 is covered in mud and gravel substances which are being flung onto the pavement. I commute by bicycle on a daily basis and can no longer use the A12 Cycle path or Little braxted lane due to the punctures i am sustaining or risk of slipping when its wet. As a car driver i have also noticed decreased grip to the road in an area where cars are accelerating up to the National speed limit to join the dual carriageway. There is a risk car bodywork is damaged by stones flug up by a vehicles tires, potentially windscreens too. There is a trail of mud from the quarry site over the bridge to the marked location and it is quite clear that is the origin of the material. Whilst i accept the weather has been bad its clear vehicles are leaving the site with excessive material attached and it merits investigation.
