Dead saplings

Reported via mobile in the Fallen/ Dead Tree (NH) category anonymously at 15:39, Tuesday 20 February 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5605604.

The saplings planted to replace the mature trees knocked down for the new bridge at Orrell interchange have failed. This is having a direct impact on the houses near the junction as the tree provided protection from noise and light pollution. Since the trees have been removed this issue has been ongoing. To address this issue new trees were planted but you haven’t continued to care for these saplings and they have all died. Please could these be replaced and the replacements be taken care of so that they have a chance at succeeding. You could plant gather ferns or conifer trees which stand a better chance of surviving with little interference.
