Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 15:29, Sunday 18 February 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5594742.

On the slip road coming onto/going off the A500 there is an entrance to what seems to be a quarry. There is clay-like mud and sand all over the road and is slippery when wet. Whoever owns the site should be forced to pay for the cleanup and continued maintenance if they're going to be using that entrance often. It's dangerous and is going to cause an accident. The issue has been there for some time and is persistent.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

We would like to confirm that the issue you reported has now been resolved. We hope that this improves any future experience you have using this road. We checked the Tunstall northbound entry slip and the mud has washed away. We check this slip every week on our safety inspection as it is known to occasionally get a build up of mud, if this does happen we have a contact at the quarry and they organise sweeping of the slip the same day.

    Kind regards
