Lack of cat's eyes

Reported via desktop in the Cat Eyes/ Reflectors (NH) category anonymously at 20:46, Tuesday 6 February 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5540785.

There are very few cat's eyes on the whole length of the M69, making it very difficult in the rain at night to see the lane markings. I noticed this particularly today 6th Feb 24 in very heavy rain at evening rush hour with a lot of spray from vehicles in front making visibility very difficult at whatever speed. I should mention that there was an accident on the M69 this evening to which this issue may or may not have been contributory.

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue. If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections. Please note we do have a scheme planned for resurfacing and replacing studs this year.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
