Reported via desktop in the Electronic Sign (NH) category anonymously at 11:11, Tue 6 February 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5538060.

The 2 main electronic signs leading into the Dover TAP area of the a20 are not functioning when the temporary 40mph limit is activated. Also, several of the smaller ones are also not illuminated. This needs fixing asap.

Updates

  • Dear Sir / Madam Thank you for contacting National Highways.

I’m sorry for the frustration and inconvenience these faults are causing you and we really appreciate you raising these issues with us.

After checking our system, I can confirm there are some faulty electronic signs on the A20 prior to the Dover Tap operation.

I can confirm engineers are aware of the issues and are working to fix the problem, I’m sorry I cannot provide any concrete timeframes for when these are going be resolved.

As you have done so already, if you see a sign that you feel is incorrect or faulty, then we’d welcome a call from you or your passengers if it’s safe and legal to do so. Our Customer Contact Centre is available 24/7 on 0300 123 5000 and we'd be able to liaise with the relevant control room to check the validity of the sign to either correct or fault report it.

I hope this information is helpful and thank you again for taking the time to contact us. If you require any further information, please contact us via our Customer Contact Centre. They're available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email: info@nationalhighways.co.uk or visit our website at www.nationalhighways.co.uk. You can also tell us about something wrong on any of our roads by using the Report a Problem page on our website.

    Kind regards
