Major Traffic build up

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 09:43, Tue 6 February 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5537541.

Travelling on the M1 North to go on to the M62 East has horrendous traffic build up due to sequencing and timing of the temporary lights. This is extremely dangerous due to the amount of standing traffic. Can you please resolve this asap and feedback before there is a bad incident or accident. This needs urgent review to avoid the above. Many thanks Look forward to your feedback to resolve Regards Sean

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting us via FixMyStreet on 6 February about the temporary traffic lights from our works at the Lofthouse Interchange, M1. We appreciate the time you've taken to contact us.

We can advise due to some adverse weather causing issues with the signal connections and more recently an incident on site, this then caused damage to the signals operating.

We can confirm these issues have now been rectified, and the lights are back in operation as before.
