Signal timing issues on traffic lights

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 08:13, Friday 2 February 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5522284.

Since Monday the traffic light settings on the whole roundabout at J10 as you enter or exit the M20 have been changed for the worse. The signalling timing is so bad it’s causing miles of tailbacks, Please look into this ASAP and revert to the settings where traffic here has flowed without any of these issues. It is dangerous as drivers are trying to cut in to get ahead of the traffic

Updates

  • Thank you for your report.

The sequencing has been changed to accommodate the resurfacing works at this location. With resurfacing works taking place the sensors in the road would not have been working and caused bigger problems. The lights will be switched back once the works in the area have been completed.

    Kind Regards

    National Highways
