Speeding in vauxhall corsa cars

Reported via desktop in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 22:41, Tue 30 January 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5512858.

The road markings and speed signs here must be so incomprehensible and unintelligible as reckless youths think it’s acceptable to speed in their Vauxhall Corsa and Ford Fiesta Cars! I think it’s grossly irresponsible that these lowest of the lows lifeforms are able to continue with this behaviour. I, Carol of Cirencester, have spend the last 43 years diligently sticking to the speed limits and checking my mirrors when I lane change, my 12 year no claims bonus illustrates my point here. Current Youth behaviour is an utter disgrace. There should be at least 3 new speed camera points installed on the M4 and increased police patrols as soon as possible to arrest those offenders! Yours Angrily, Carol Battersby

Updates

  • Dear Carol Battersby,

I hope this message finds you well. Firstly, I want to express our sincere gratitude for your commitment to road safety over the past 43 years. Your dedication to adhering to speed limits and maintaining a spotless driving record is truly commendable.

I understand your frustration and concern regarding the apparent reckless driving behaviour on the roads, particularly by some younger individuals. It is disheartening to witness such incidents, and your perspective sheds light on the importance of ensuring the safety of all road users.

While we share your concern, it's important to note that we are not an enforcement agency. However, we completely empathise with your concerns and agree that measures should be taken to address these issues promptly.

In situations where you witness speeding or reckless driving, we strongly recommend reporting such incidents to the local police. They have the authority to enforce traffic regulations and take appropriate action against offenders. Your involvement in reporting incidents will contribute to a safer environment for everyone on the road.

Moreover, your suggestion regarding the installation of additional speed camera points and increased police patrols is noteworthy and aligns with the collective goal of promoting road safety. You may consider reaching out to your local law enforcement or relevant authorities to advocate for these measures and share your concerns directly with them.

Once again, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate your dedication to safe driving, and we hope that together, we can work towards creating a safer and more responsible driving culture.

    Wishing you safe travels,

    National Highways
