Traffic lights sequencing/synchronisation

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 15:17, Wednesday 24 January 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5486196.

The issue surrounds eastbound traffic at the junction of the A69 with the A1. The lights are out of sequence which results in the restriction of the flow of traffic in attempting to join the A1. As a result, the eastbound traffic backs up on a regular basis for over a mile. This issue has been ongoing for over one year and bearing in mind that traffic beyond the lights has been moving freely. The lights sequence needs adjusting to accommodate the heavier flow of traffic eastbound.
