Raised/ wrongly installed cats eyes

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5477263.
Recently resurfaced stretch of road between Brocklesby Interchange and Barnetby Top (westbound) the cats eyes are the old style heavy metal type and have not been recessed into the road but laid flat on a bed of bitumen adhesive and seal, this becomes not only a danger to road users should they become detached but are a very costly repair to low profile alloy wheels.

Thank you for contacting via FixMyStreet on 22 January 2024 about the recent resurfacing works between Brocklesby Interchange and Barnetby Top. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to contact us.
We can advise after reviewing your enquiry the studs were installed correctly as per the design for the scheme, which was a requirement for a surface mounted stud at the rib line separating the hard shoulder and lane 1. The only requirement for embedded studs is on the lane 1/2 line.
Regarding the old style heavy metal type, these are still a relevant item which complies with the current standard and specification.
