Electronic sign across all lanes M5 southbound

Reported via mobile in the Electronic Sign (NH) category anonymously at 20:13, Mon 15 January 2024

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5448018.

There were 2x electronic displays on M5 southbound (about a mile before junction 4) that have displayed "national speed limit applies" signs across all lanes in 50mph roadworks zone around 1.30pm on 14/1/24. This was misleading and I have increased my speed briefly to 60mph before realising that this must be a mistake, however there was a yellow speed camera soon after the display sign, therefore I would not be surprised if I was caught speeding. In addition to this the electronic sign had a red cross in the hard shoulder lane, despite the physical road signs advised to use hard shoulder.

Unfortunately, I do not not have dashcam footage of this, but there was a Traffic Officer car (with registration KO21 ?VT) leaving at junction 4 that might have recorded this.

I'm reporting this because I think it would be unfair to prosecute those that have increased their speed past 50mph.
