Vegetation covering footpath
Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 10:05, Mon 15 January 2024
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5441607.
Vegetation from either side has reduced the footpath to less than 12 inches in width in some places making it pretty well unusable for people with mobility issues; eg wheelchair users, mobility scooters and people with buggies etc
Bearing in mind this is one of the main pedestrian routes to the National Memorial Arboretum it is not a good advert for National Highways

Thank you for making your report. We asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue. They're arranging for overgrown vegetation and build up of silt on footpath to be cleared within 28 days.
Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
Kind regards National Highways

This pathway is now overgrown in parts to the extent you cannot see the pathway. Being so near to the carriageway, it is dangerous for users to cycle along. In fact today two cyclists dismounted because of the growth of vegetation obscuring the route

As at 6 June 2024 this still has not been attended to; bearing in mind this was first reported and acknowledged in Jan 2024 when it was reported that work had been scheduled this is extremely disappointing. Further we noticed yesterday that a party containing one wheelchair user and one mobility scooter had to use the main carriageway of the A513 to get access to the National Memorial Arboretum.
Will you please provide a timetable for the works
