Like most roads you're responsible for, the whole length of the M6 is absolutely covered in litter. This includes, general litter from road users, debris from car accidents etc and old road work equipment, cones, sign frames, sand bags etc left by your workers. When the very people paid to maintain the roads are littering, it is evident this country has a major issue. I have seen the news that a litter Abatement order is coming your way. Hopefully one of many, and long overdue. Your inability to keep the road network clean is shocking. Your workers add to the litter and you do nothing about it.

Thank you for contacting National Highways about litter.
We have passed your report to our local inspector who will review the issue as part of their next safety inspection and arrange any remedial action.
Littering by people is, unfortunately, a behaviour that has a big impact on some parts of our roads. We aim to keep our roads as tidy and free of litter as we can. Our litter picking is carefully planned to try to minimise the impact it has on road users and the safety of our people. Litter picks often require lane closures, which are disruptive to traffic flow. To help reduce the frequency of this disruption, where we can, we usually combine our reactive litter picks with other maintenance work which can result in what appears to be a delayed response.
Kind regards
